Original Mtn Man’s “Green River” Knife- Still made after all these years… Bushcraft / Survival

This same knife was carried by mountain men, trappers, settlers, and Indians. It worked then, and it works now. In fact “Green River” came to mean the highest quality. Yet this knife is much different from modern bushcraft or survival knives. What did they know that has been forgotten? What made this pattern of knife so good?
