You don’t need a mechanical ascender or prusik tender for safe one-handed tether/lineman operation. Ditch the gadgets without spending any more $$. This blew my mind when I first saw it!
UPDATE: Due to the comments posted (we’re always learning & growing, that’s why we watch youtube videos right?!?) I have changed my knots to double fisherman’s. The lineman in the video is stock from XOP, so I clearly am not the only one who was running it like this. Plus every other stock rope I’ve had in the past came from the factory overhand knot in the prusik SO…??? Here’s to safer climbing!
